Timothy A. Kolaya appointed to The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee

Miami, FL | May 11, 2018 – Timothy A. Kolaya has been appointed to The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee for a three-year term lasting through the spring of 2021.

The Civil Procedure Rules Committee considers proposals for changes to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, which are the procedural rules governing most civil actions brought in Florida’s trial courts.  Under Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.140(a)(4), the Committee must be composed of attorneys and judges with extensive experience and training in an area of practice that calls for regular, frequent use of the rules.  The Committee members serve for three-year staggered terms.

Mr. Kolaya has previous experience serving on committees within The Florida Bar, having served from 2013-2016 on the Judicial Administration and Evaluation Committee.
