Stumphauzer & Sloman Adds Three Former Greenberg Traurig Partners, Including Former Miami Litigation Chair, Renamed Stumphauzer Foslid Sloman Ross & Kolaya

Miami, FL | April 8, 2019 – Stumphauzer & Sloman, PLLC have announced that Adam Foslid, Ian Ross, and Timothy Kolaya, three partners from Greenberg Traurig, P.A.’s Miami office, have joined the firm as name partners. The firm will be renamed Stumphauzer Foslid Sloman Ross & Kolaya, PLLC.

Adam has chaired one of the largest and most prestigious litigation departments in Florida, and with Tim and Ian, has litigated bet-the-company cases on behalf of national and international clients,” said Ryan Stumphauzer. “Their experience in complex commercial matters will complement our Chambers & Partners-recognized white collar and government investigations practice and transform our firm into a full-service litigation boutique,” said Jeff Sloman, the former U.S. Attorney who joined the firm in 2015.

Prior to joining Stumphauzer Foslid Sloman Ross & Kolaya, Mr. Foslid was the chairman of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami litigation department, and, prior to that, served as the office’s Co- Hiring Shareholder. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association, has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, listed in The Legal 500 United States, and named a Most Effective Lawyer for Class Action Litigation. Mr. Ross has been listed in The Legal 500 United States and recognized as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers. Mr. Kolaya was the recipient of the Dade County Bar Association’s “Rising Superstar Award,” and also has been recognized as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers.

Messrs. Foslid, Kolaya, and Ross will bring their new firm decades of BigLaw expertise across the spectrum of commercial matters. Mr. Foslid concerates his practice on complex commercial, business, class action, and product liability litigation before courts and arbitral panels throughout the United States. Mr. Ross represents clients in business disputes, financial and securities litigation, complex commercial litigation, and class actions, including claims brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Mr. Kolaya, an engineer and former construction manager, counsels clients on a wide array of disputes involving real estate, construction, commercial transactions, and business torts.

They are also leaders in the community and active in charitable and civic organizations. Mr. Foslid serves a Governor-appointed Commissioner on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Third District Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Chief Judge Bertila Soto to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Professionalism Panel, and serves on the Boards for Habitat for Humanity of Great Miami, The First Tee of Miami Foundation, and the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Ross serves on the Boards for Americans for Immigrant Justice, the Miami-Dade Urban Debate League, and the Regional Board for Read to a Child, and has been recognized as a Pro Bono Hero. Mr. Kolaya serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, is a Member of the Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee, and is the Chair of the South Florida Chapter of The Parkinson’s Foundation.
